Introducing G&TT Career Lab!
Demand for digital talent continues to rise, yet women remain significantly underrepresented across tech careers.
While many organisations focus on attracting diverse candidates, the reality is that the talent pipeline begins years before someone applies for their first job.
If we want to close the gender gap in tech, we need to inspire young women before they decide their future careers. That's exactly where we come in.
Why grassroots matters
The gender gap doesn't start in the workplace. It starts back in the classroom.
Girls remain underrepresented across computing, physics and engineering pathways, limiting the number who go on to pursue careers in technology.
By the time employers begin recruiting graduates, many talented young women have already ruled tech out as a career option.
Grassroots initiatives are one of the most powerful ways organisations can influence the future workforce, challenge outdated stereotypes and inspire the next generation!
Introducing G&TT Career Lab
The G&TT Career Lab is a one-day immersive experience for women aged 18–24 who are exploring their own potential and their future careers.
Following an application process, a cohort of ambitious attendees is handpicked to take part in interactive workshops, employer sessions and inspiring talks from senior women in leadership working across technology.
Throughout the day, attendees will:
• Discover careers they may never have considered
• Build skills through practical employability workshops
• Meet inspiring women working in technology
• Grow their professional network
• Leave with interview and CV writing skills
• Make friends and build confidence
• Some may even leave with their next job opportunity!
How can you get involved?
Whether you're an organisation looking to build your future talent pipeline or a professional or subject matter expert passionate about inspiring others, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
You can:
· Sponsor the event
· Deliver an inspiring workshop or talk
· Nominate a speaker
· Promote graduate and early careers opportunities
Together, we can help inspire the next generation of female techies!
