Security Architect

Location Greater Manchester
Location Type Remote
Job Type Permanent
Seniority Mid
Salary £70,000

A rare opportunity to shape security strategy at scale.

We’re partnering with a large, forward-thinking organisation in Manchester that is undergoing significant digital transformation. With a growing cloud footprint, complex identity landscape, and critical data environments, security sits at the heart of their strategy.

They are now looking for a Security Architect to take ownership of enterprise security design and help implement and mature Microsoft Defender and Sentinel across the organisation.

It’s an opportunity to influence architecture, guide major technology decisions, and embed modern security principles across a large, evolving environment.

The Opportunity

Key focus areas include:

  • Designing secure architectures across Azure cloud, identity, endpoint and enterprise systems
  • Embedding Zero Trust principles across the organisation
  • Shaping the roadmap for Microsoft security tooling (Sentinel, Defender, Entra ID)
  • Providing architectural oversight across transformation programmes
  • Advising senior stakeholders on risk, resilience and secure-by-design approaches

You’ll be the trusted voice of security architecture, balancing risk with enablement, and ensuring security supports innovation rather than blocks it.

This is an organisation where security has visibility and backing.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience operating as a Security Architect (or a Senior Security Engineer who has strong experience implementing Microsoft)
  • Strong background in cloud and identity security
  • Experience designing enterprise-grade security solutions
  • Solid understanding of SIEM/XDR platforms (ideally Microsoft Sentinel & Defender)
  • Ability to translate technical risk into clear architectural guidance
  • Strong engagement skills as you will be expected to mentor and upskill colleagues

Experience within complex or regulated environments is advantageous but not essential.

This is a fix term contract - 12-16 months dependent on start date

Why Consider It?

  • Genuine influence over security direction
  • Strategic-level exposure
  • Hybrid working model (1 day a week)
  • Above 50 holidays over the year.
  • Strong pension
  • A role with real organisational impact

If you’re a Security Architect looking for a position where you can shape strategy, modernise security architecture, and operate at meaningful scale, I’d be happy to share more details confidentially.
