About the business:

G.Digital have partnered with a FinTech/Bank making moves in the payments industry by creating revolutionary digital first solutions. They are the epitome of modern banking via mobile and online platforms, with a streamlined, app-based experience and no traditional branch network.

About the role:

• Design, build, and support scalable backend services and integrations across the Banking Services platform, owning complex features end-to-end from initial design through production release and continuous enhancement.
• Deliver high-quality, thoroughly tested, and high-performance code; lead and contribute to code reviews to uphold engineering standards and best practices, while championing the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery, quality, and developer experience.

Required Skills:

• Experienced backend engineer specialising in distributed systems, with strong Kotlin/Java skills and a focus on scalable, high-performance design.
• Confident working in cloud-native environments (ideally AWS) with hands-on experience in containers and Kubernetes.
• Champions engineering excellence through code reviews, best practices, and clear, collaborative communication.
• Bonus: gRPC and AWS service experience (SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.), exposure to AI-assisted tooling, and background in regulated or financial environments.
